Kaiser Permanente Breaks Ground for Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw MOB
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Kaiser Permanente will begin construction this month on a new, cutting-edge, 100,000-square-foot medical facility in Crenshaw, California that will open in spring 2017.
The facility will serve more than 50,000 members in this community. The groundbreaking ceremony took place Oct. 20 at the site of the new facility (3780 West MLK Jr. Blvd.), located on the corner of Marlton Avenue and Santa Rosalia Drive.
The facility will offer high-tech exam rooms, equipped with the ability to conduct real-time virtual consults with other Kaiser Permanente doctors throughout the region. Additionally, as part of the health system’s commitment to building healthy communities, the design for the facility includes 2.5 acres of green space, including a two-mile walk path and outdoor event space and conference room that will be available to the community.
The general contractor on the project is Turner Construction; HOK is serving as architect.
