Ben P. Lee, AIA, a principal and CFO of NK Architects, was recently installed as 2011 president of the Architects League of Northern New Jersey. He has been a member of the organization since 1979. Lee manages the firm’s Healthcare Design Group. His professional affiliations include: American College of Healthcare Architects, American Society of Hospital Engineers, Healthcare Facilities Management Society of NJ and NJ Chapter of American Planning Association.
As president of the league, his resolutions for 2011 are:
– Be Resolved that we the architects will work with our community leaders for a more “Livable Community” as defined by AIA.
– Be Resolved that we the architects will collaborate with planners, zoning officers and local authorities to improve the process of development approvals that benefit the community and create economic growth.
– Be Resolved that we the architects will encourage home owners, schools, hospitals and commercial owners to retrofit their buildings to conserve energy, reduce their carbon footprint and preserve buildings with historical value to develop a more “sustainable environment” for our future as part of AIA 2030 Challenge.
