Joseph Kuspan has joined FKP Architects as senior vice president, heading up the firm’s newest office in Columbus, Ohio. Kuspan is working alongside Mitch Levitt, principal and director of market strategies.
Specializing in Evidence-Based Design, Kuspan has designed projects in many sectors, but has a focus and passion for healthcare. He was the project designer and medical planner for Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas in Austin, which was the first LEED Platinum hospital in Texas. Kuspan also has extensive experience designing children’s, pediatrics and community hospitals, as well as cancer treatment facilities.
In addition, he has lectured for design and client audiences at the AIA National Convention and the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. His design skills have come in handy as a juror for several design competitions across the country. He has been invited to participate on juror’s panels for the AIA National Healthcare Design Awards, AIA Indiana and AIA Boston.
