Matt Hufnagle joins CBRE Healthcare as managing director of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Regions. With over 22 years of project and program management experience in the healthcare industry, Hufnagle brings a broad base of knowledge and leadership abilities to the firm.
In his new role, he will ensure that CBRE Healthcare consultants deliver value-added solutions in the delivery of their capital projects. Prior to joining the firm, Hufnagle was a partner/regional vice president at Hammes Company and served clients such as VCU/MCV, Prince William Hospital, Valley Health System, Guthrie Health System, Bon Secours, West Virginia University and Virtua Health System. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
Tim Schaefer rejoins the firm as principal consultant. With over 20 years of healthcare experience, Schaefer has worked on both the owner and consultant side of project management. Prior to joining CBRE Healthcare, he served as director of facility construction and planning at The Carle Foundation Hospital. In his role at CBRE Healthcare, he provides project advisory solutions on multiple projects in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio State University.
Penny Busch joins the firm as principal consultant. With over 15 years of experience in the healthcare and commercial industry, Busch brings a wealth of knowledge related to project scheduling, budgeting and procurement. Prior to joining CBRE Healthcare, she served as a senior program manager at Parkland Health & Hospital System. She holds a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. Busch supports the CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center team.
Alex Araujo joins the firm with over 17 years of experience. In his role as senior consultant, Araujo is responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery for Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining CBRE Healthcare, he served as project manager at Texas A&M University System. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Houston.
James Phillips joins the firm as senior consultant with over 14 years of experience in facility activation and transition as both an owner and consultant. Prior to joining CBRE Healthcare, Phillips worked for Parsons, AOS and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. As senior consultant, he will play a major role in the CBRE Healthcare Facility Activation service line. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Barry University.
Andrew Gilbert joins the firm as associate consultant supporting the CBRE Healthcare team at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Gilbert has experience in project management, supporting clients and effectively bridging gaps that can often develop during a project. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Miami University.
Jennifer Bohannon joins the firm as associate consultant in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining the Healthcare team, Bohannon worked with CBRE Asset Services. In her new role, she will be an onsite project manager for the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio on the CHRISTUS account. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
