Duke Realty Donates Stained Glass Windows to Mercy Rehab Hospital
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., and INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The chapel of the recently opened Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, now displays stained glass windows donated by the hospital’s developer, Duke Realty.
“In addition to units with the latest equipment, high-tech therapy devices and treatments, the new Mercy rehab hospital offers a variety of amenities designed to enhance patient healing,” says Keith Konkoli, Duke Realty senior vice president, healthcare. “We’re pleased to donate beautiful stained glass windows to the hospital’s chapel, which we hope will help contribute to the calming, healing environment.”
The 60-bed, 63,000-square-foot rehab hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for patients who are recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Located at State Route 65 and East Farm Road 188 (County Road 188), the hospital is100 percent leased and managed by Mercy Springfield Communities, a joint venture partnership comprised of Mercy Hospital Springfield; regional hospitals and clinics and Centerre Healthcare Corp.
The hospital also provides special services and facilities for patients and their families, including recreation programs, pet therapy and family friendly rooms with sleeper chairs.
“We are happy to accept Duke Realty’s donation of stained glass windows for our chapel as part of our ongoing efforts to comfort patients and their families and speed the healing process,” says Dr. Hollis Bell, medical director for rehabilitation at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield.
