FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Lutheran Hospital hosted a topping out ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 16, to celebrate the raising of the last steel beam on the new 58,649-square-foot fifth floor addition. In recognition of this construction milestone, Lutheran Health Network CEO Joe Dorko trekked to the top of the nearly 150-foot crane to lead the countdown of the the final beam hoisting.
Lutheran announced plans in early May to expand the hospital upward to allow for the addition of 96 new private patient rooms and the continued renovation of existing units. These efforts will ultimately expedite the hospital’s transition to all private patient rooms.
