LOS ANGELES, Calif. — After nearly three decades of managing healthcare projects, Eyal Perchik, AIA, ACHA, principal at CO Architects, has earned his board certificate in healthcare architecture from the American College of Healthcare Architects. Perchik recently passed an accredited examination, which assesses the knowledge and understanding of architects who practice as healthcare specialists.
The ACHA requires its certificate holders to work toward the improvement of healthcare architecture on behalf of the public, practice in an ethical manner and maintain high standards in this specialized field. Perchik joins the ranks of more than 400 ACHA colleagues in the U.S. and Canada who have received this credential, including Stephen Yundt, AIA, ACHA, also principal at CO Architects.
Perchik has coordinated a wide range of healthcare design projects, including earthquake repair and seismic retrofitting, new replacement hospitals, renovated hospitals, ambulatory centers and administrative buildings.
As healthcare project director, Perchik has led design teams for many of the firm’s California healthcare projects, including the 740,000-square-foot Palomar Medical Center in Escondido; the Queen of the Valley Medical Advanced Diagnostic & Surgical Pavilion in Napa and multiple projects for Kaiser Permanente.
Perchik graduated from the Southern California Institute of Architecture with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He has served as co-chair of the AIA/LA Healthcare Committee and an instructor at UCLA Extension.
