HOK has named Will McConnell, AIA, as its new regional healthcare practice leader in Chicago, Ill. McConnell, a vice president at HOK, has 20 years of experience in the planning, design and delivery of healthcare and research facilities. His projects have included the Wexner Medical Center Cancer and Critical Care Tower at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Ill.
McConnell holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University. In 2011, he received the Community Service Award from the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society for his work with The Children’s Clinic, an organization that provides services to children whose families are unable to afford private healthcare.
“The social and financial factors influencing healthcare facility planning and design have never been more dynamic,” said McConnell. “With its global resources and expertise, HOK is uniquely positioned to provide clients with facilities that meet today’s high expectations across a wide range of performance criteria.”
