    Turner Selected to Provide Pre-Construction and Construction Services on $291 Million Medical Care and Research Center

    NEW YORK, Feb. 10 — Turner Construction Company, the nation’s largest builder of healthcare facilities, has been selected by Kaleida Health to provide pre-construction and construction services on a $291 million, 480,000 sq. ft. medical care and research center on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus in Buffalo, N.Y. Construction is underway and completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2011.


    Turner’s contract of $165.5 million is for the construction of the 10-story facility and the interior fit-out of six floors which will house an emergency department, operating rooms, procedure rooms and ICU beds in addition to preparation and recovery areas.

    Four floors of the facility will contain research space for the University at Buffalo’s Center for Clinical and Translational Research as well as a University at Buffalo biosciences incubator.
