Prisma Health has opened the Northeast Medical Park, a new multi-specialty outpatient facility to expand access to care in one of South Carolina’s fastest-growing regions. The four-level, approximately 120,000-square-foot ambulatory care center brings a wide range of medical services together under one roof, creating a centralized destination for coordinated, patient-centered care. Serving Northeast Columbia, Blythewood, Winnsboro, Elgin and surrounding communities, the facility provides residents with convenient access to primary care, specialty clinics, diagnostics and outpatient surgery closer to home.
The new medical park reflects Prisma Health’s strategy to expand outpatient services and shift more procedures into ambulatory settings as healthcare delivery continues to evolve. The project team included McMillan Pazdan Smith, Brasfield & Gorrie and Nexcore Group.
Planning for the project was guided by a data-driven approach that evaluated projected population growth, service line demand and evolving care delivery models. Working closely stakeholders, McMillan Pazdan Smith developed a flexible outpatient framework designed to support efficient clinical workflows while accommodating future growth and changes in care delivery. The facility includes 110 exam rooms supporting a wide range of primary and specialty services, including internal medicine, family medicine, OB/GYN, neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, vascular care, pain medicine and behavioral health. Two Centers of Excellence in Cardiology and Orthopedics anchor the clinical program.
Additional features include four advanced operating rooms, a dedicated ambulatory surgery center for same-day procedures, imaging and laboratory services, cardiac and physical rehabilitation and a full-service outpatient pharmacy with drive-through access. The building’s four-level organization supports both patient convenience and clinical efficiency. The first floor houses the ambulatory surgery center, imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy and rehabilitation spaces, while upper levels accommodate specialty clinics and physician practices. The fourth floor is dedicated to cancer care services.
