JE Dunn Construction has completed two projects in Cornelius, North Carolina: the new Atrium Health Lake Norman Hospital and a medical office building. Hospital construction was completed in June, and the facility welcomed its first patient shortly after on July 1. The MOB was finished Aug. 15. Both buildings were completed by the JE Dunn|McFarland Construction joint venture team.
Designed with the community in mind, the nearly 200,000-square-foot, five-floor hospital features a 24/7 emergency room, labor and delivery floor, operating and procedure rooms, imaging, lab and pharmacy. The building also features the latest technology, including secure virtual nursing capabilities and in-room dining service, as well as a healing garden and art installations from local artists.
The 66,690-square-foot MOB includes 61 exam rooms and two X-ray rooms. Specialties onsite include Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute orthopedic services and Atrium Health Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute cardiovascular services. Additional project team members include Meadows & Ohly, NBBJ, RenzCo Architects, WSP and Kimley-Horn.
