The International Interior Design Association’s New York Chapter has named Amy Mays, IIDA, vice president, east region director of interiors at HDR, the recipient of the chapter’s 2025 Leadership Award of Excellence. She was honored for a legacy defined not only by the transformative spaces she creates, but also by the way she uplifts those around her.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated commitment to advancing the interior design profession, fostering collaboration and mentoring future generations of designers. At HDR, she is a leader in healthcare design, shaping environments that promote healing and well-being.
Within IIDA NY, Mays has held several positions, including chapter president-elect and co-chair of both the Healthcare Forum and Volunteer Committee. She also serves as co-chair of the DEX Committee, where she helps curate dynamic cross-disciplinary roundtables spotlighting creative voices from architecture, design and related fields.
