Youngest Licensed Architect in Nation Joins Healthcare Team at HFG Architecture

At 22 years old, Emily Almloff is reshaping what’s possible in architecture. This month, the HFG Architecture team celebrates her achievement as the youngest registered architect in the United States — officially licensed in Missouri as of April 25.

Almloff’s path to HFG Architecture started during a graduate internship in 2023, where she found a team that shared her passion for meaningful work. Now, as a full-time healthcare architect, she’s channeling her skills and heart into healthcare architecture.

After graduating with honors from the University of Kansas in Fall 2024 — completing a BA in Architectural Studies, a Master of Architecture, a Master of Construction Management and certificates in Service Learning, Health and Wellness Architecture, Participatory Design, and Urban Design — she didn’t waste a moment. She hit the ground running, studying nearly every day to keep her momentum going. Between January and February 2025, she took all six exams — one nearly every Friday.

“Emily represents the very best of what the next generation of architects brings to our field,” said David Wright, CEO at HFG. “Her commitment, her compassion and her drive to serve others through design — that’s what architecture needs right now. We couldn’t be prouder to have her on our team.”
