Practice Greenhealth has introduced the Health Care Emissions Impact Calculator 2.0, along with additional resources available to support greenhouse gas emissions reduction journeys.

One new resource is the GHG emission reduction action plan template, which helps healthcare organizations create an action plan to reduce a facility’s GHG emissions by identifying and prioritizing possible interventions. This resource has options to identify interventions by scope, activity or category, and input financial data to estimate the costs and savings of each intervention.

Improvements to the new calculator include:

    • The addition of purchased, market-based electricity for Scope 2 emissions
    • Updated emission factors for Scope2
    • AR6 values for gases and refrigerants
    • More custom inputs for Scope 3 categories
    • More options to input Scope 3 category 1 and 2 activities
    • More options to input weight or distance instead of spend for Scope 3 categories

Full details can be found at practicegreenhealth.org.
