E4H’s Candice Barter Wins BAC Award
E4H Environments for Health Architecture’s Candice Barter, AIA, NCARB, EDAC, principal, has been awarded the 2023 Distinguished Alumni in Architecture Award from Boston Architectural College. The award was presented to Barter at the BAC Alumni Awards ceremony on Nov. 8, in recognition of her exemplary contributions to the field of healthcare design.
With nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare design, Barter has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in various complex healthcare projects, specializing in pediatric and behavioral health facility design. She has spearheaded transformative projects for some of the top pediatric hospitals in the United States, including Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s National Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Barter’s approach to design is human-centric, research-based and dedicated to enhancing patient and staff comfort.
In her role as principal at E4H, Barter leads with compassion and dedication, using her expertise to mentor staff and nurture the next generation of designers. She was a member of the Emergency Conditions Committee during the pandemic and a contributor to the Facility Guidelines Institute’s Guidelines for Emergency Conditions in Health and Residential Care Facilities. She is also a member of the New England Healthcare Engineers Society.
