2022 Guidelines Proposal Period Closing June 30
Facility managers and administrators, engineers, designers, infection preventionists, medical professionals, and others involved in the design and construction of health and residential care facilities, are encouraged to submit proposed changes to the 2018 edition of the Guidelines for Design and Construction before the midnight deadline on June 30.
If you have used the Facility Guidelines Institute Guidelines for Design and Construction documents to plan a hospital, outpatient facility or residential care facility project, did you run across language that was unclear? Do you think any requirements in the Guidelines are too strict—or not stringent enough? Would you like to see requirements for a particular hospital unit, outpatient facility type or residential facility type added to the Guidelines documents? Now is the time to submit a proposal via FGI’s new proposal site: https://fgiguidelines.net.
FGI encourages health and residential care professionals in a variety of roles to recommend changes that will improve clarity and better support clinical practices and the delivery of safe and effective patient and resident care. Once the proposal period is closed on June 30, the 130-member, multidisciplinary Health Guidelines Revision Committee will consider all proposals received and review the benefit and cost implications of each.
The proposal period is the first step in the Guidelines revision process that will result in publication of the 2022 edition of the documents. A second public input period will occur when the draft of the 2022 Guidelines is released for public comment in 2020.
