EwingCole Wins Services Contract for the U.S. Department of Defense
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — EwingCole has been awarded a task order for the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The firm is now responsible for sustainment support of nearly 30,000,000 square feet of medically related defense facilities worldwide.
“Managing information about facility assets and leveraging that information to plan and create locally approved projects are our primary tasks,” said John L. Capelli, AIA, head of EwingCole’s government practice group. “We have sustainment specialists at 27 locations worldwide and are implementing business process innovations designed to connect capital investments to MEDCOM’s strategic goals.”
The EwingCole team, with the assistance of HFS Company and Tessada, is providing comprehensive oversight and support for all aspects of the DMLSS – FM suite to gather critical data about the performance of facilities, including equipment, space and property databases; construction and operations building information exchanges and building information modeling initiatives.
“We are currently issuing usage reports, work request and q-rating reports in order to assist the army in making decisions between sustainment, restoration and modernization or facility replacement,” continued Capelli. “In addition, our DMLSS FM program analyst has created new electronic reports that enable MEDCOM to quickly understand an installation’s performance.”
