Prior to joining Perkins Eastman, Youssef was an interior designer at Perkins+Will, where some of his notable projects included the Center for Prenatal Pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian Hospital; Maimonides Medical Center and Children’s Health Fund. During this time, Youssef also served as a materials expert focused on sustainable design, leading product research on toxic emissions and environmental hazards during the lifecycle of architectural and interior products, and also served as a liaison between the firm, vendors and nonprofit and professional organizations regarding sustainable practices.
In partnership with Construction Specialties, he also co-led the creation of the industry’s first Building Product Transparency Label, which details the complete make-up of a product, highlighting critical lifecycle information and potential human health impacts.
In addition to his design work, Youssef has published on material finish and make-up within healthcare environments and presents regularly at industry conferences. He holds a bachelor of fine arts from Fashion Institute of Technology.
