NEW YORK, N.Y. — The New York office of Perkins Eastman announced that Chris Youssef NCIDQ, LEED AP has joined the firm as an associate. Youssef joins with more than 14 years of industry experience focused on healthcare interior design and material/product lifecycle and sustainability.

Prior to joining Perkins Eastman, Youssef was an interior designer at Perkins+Will, where some of his notable projects included the Center for Prenatal Pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian Hospital; Maimonides Medical Center and Children’s Health Fund. During this time, Youssef also served as a materials expert focused on sustainable design, leading product research on toxic emissions and environmental hazards during the lifecycle of architectural and interior products, and also served as a liaison between the firm, vendors and nonprofit and professional organizations regarding sustainable practices.
In partnership with Construction Specialties, he also co-led the creation of the industry’s first Building Product Transparency Label, which details the complete make-up of a product, highlighting critical lifecycle information and potential human health impacts.
In addition to his design work, Youssef has published on material finish and make-up within healthcare environments and presents regularly at industry conferences. He holds a bachelor of fine arts from Fashion Institute of Technology.
