ERDMAN Janesville Medical Campus RMADISON, Wis. – ERDMAN was honored with a 2012 Build Wisconsin Award by the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin. Winning projects are honored for skill, integrity, hard work, ingenuity and commitment. ERDMAN won in the “Design-Build New Construction” category for construction of the Janesville Medical Campus: St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital and Dean Clinic-Janesville East in Janesville, Wisc. Under the firm’s integrated delivery model, ERDMAN also served as the general contractor, with J.P. Cullen & Sons in a subcontractor role.

SSM Health Care of Wisconsin and Dean Health Systems collaborated with ERDMAN to build an $88.8-million medical campus. Totaling 315,000-square-feet, the project includes a 165,000-square-foot, 50-bed hospital and an adjacent 150,000-square-foot clinic. The facility was designed to accommodate future growth. The campus is master planned to grow to a 200-bed hospital and twice the size of the existing outpatient clinic.

“We’re proud to be recognized by the AGC Wisconsin for work on a project that increases the quality and coordination of care provided in our home state,” said Brian Happ, president and CEO. “Having worked closely with our partners at SSM of Wisconsin and Dean Health System, we were able to plan and develop an integrated healthcare facility that allows for growth, while creating an environment that benefits the overall patient experience.”

To be considered for a National-Build Award, projects must have been completed in the 2011 calendar year by a company in good standing with the AGC. Judging took place by a panel of industry professionals that included an architect, engineer, facility owner or manager, city building official and a university professional.
