Suzanne Snow Severino, AIA, NCARB, EDAC, has joined HMC Architects’ healthcare practice to bolster its growth and design expertise. Serving as senior project manager, Severino brings a wealth of healthcare experience in everything from primary care clinic tenant improvements to ground-up inpatient buildings and complex interior renovations. She also has a passion for behavioral health design.
Severino’s career is firmly rooted in art and design. She received her undergraduate degree in visual arts from the University of Arizona and worked as a graphic designer in the advertising industry before pursuing an architecture degree from Arizona State University. A best-of-class project manager, Severino not only brings business skills to HMC, but also prides herself in taking a larger, more strategic view of projects, and helping grow junior designers into the leaders of tomorrow.
Previously with Corgan and later with Orcutt | Winslow in Phoenix, Severino served as a project manager and worked with several healthcare clients including Banner Health, HonorHealth, Dignity Health, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Center, IASIS Healthcare and Cigna Medical Group. Some of her significant projects include the Banner Behavioral Health Hospital Patient Tower in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the observation unit/emergency department expansion and Level 1 trauma conversions at Deer Valley Medical Center in Phoenix.
Severino’s collaborative management style, passion for healthcare design and commitment to making a positive impact on communities will enhance HMC’s ability to help clients spend their budget wisely, get to market faster and create efficient design and buildings that promote a sustainable future.
