JMiller_outside_RSAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Hospital sustainability consulting firm SOS Partners and consulting firm Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch have hired Joshua Miller as senior healthcare sustainability consultant. He is an expert in providing sustainable process improvement from an owner’s perspective, including helping hospitals build the business case for sustainability.

Miller joins Mazzetti as part of the recent SOS Partners/Mazzetti alliance that will result in a suite of services unique to the hospital industry.

Miller most recently served as Grand Rapids-based, Spectrum Health’s sustainability program manager, overseeing the organization’s sustainability office and supporting 21 hospitals within the system and in the regional network of West Michigan hospitals. At SOS/Mazzetti, he will collaborate with healthcare owners to develop and implement strategic organizational sustainability methodologies.

Miller’s experience includes creating standardized methodologies for green team development, sustainability metrics, project implementation, stakeholder engagement; developing a nationally recognized sustainability software tool for tracking, measuring and benchmarking sustainability metrics, development and management of sustainability program/green teams and influencing more than 18,000 staff members to drive change and instill sustainability into corporate culture. His work has resulted in a system-wide savings of more than 4.3 million dollars over a period of five years.

“Josh is a tremendous addition to the SOS/Mazzetti team,” said SOS Partners CEO, Rick Ament. “He brings the experience, knowledge and temperament necessary to allow him to be a great asset to hospitals embarking on their journey toward sustainable hospital operations.”
