    Liz Schmitz Joins Stantec’s Houston Office as Healthcare Planner

    HOUSTON, Texas – Liz Schmitz, RA, LEED AP, EDAC, has joined global design firm Stantec as a healthcare planner in the company’s Houston, Texas, office. Schmitz brings 12 years of experience providing medical planning and project management services for a variety of projects within the healthcare industry. She is a Registered Architect in the State of Texas, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional and holds an Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification.

    Schmitz earned her Master of Architecture with a graduate certificate in health systems and design at Texas A&M University. Her background includes a concentration in hospital campus, inpatient and outpatient facility and specialty clinic design, specializing in planning, visioning and programming. She is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects.

    A thought leader in the healthcare design field, Schmitz has authored several peer-reviewed publications and given seminars on Evidence-Based Design nationwide. She implements a highly interactive approach to creating healing environments that respond to her clients’ unique programmatic goals and needs. Her healthcare industry knowledge, leadership skills and past project management experience will enhance Stantec’s Buildings practice in the firm’s South Central region.
