SHAWANO, Wis. –The Boldt Co. of Appleton was named general contractor and construction manager while HGA Architects and Engineers of Milwaukee was selected as architect on the project, which will replace the 81-year-old Shawano Medical Center. Construction is set to begin next year with completion done during the fall of 2014.
ThedaCare held a Request for Proposal process and HGA and Boldt were selected as the result of in-depth written proposals and interviews. The selection committee included Shawano Medical Center and ThedaCare leaders, physicians and Board members.
The new hospital will be built adjacent to ThedaCare Physicians-Shawano at the intersection of County B and State 22 with the entire complex being called ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. The building will also house ThedaCare At Home-Shawano, ThedaCare At Work-Shawano and the Shawano Surgery Center.
