COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following a multi-year collaboration, M+A Architects has formally acquired KMA Design Partners’ institutional practice portfolio. An EDGE-certified, multi-disciplinary architectural design and planning partnership, KMA/DP is focused on healthcare, civic and urban development, community and educational facilities.

In addition, P’Elizabeth Koelker, co-founder of KMA/DP, has been directing M+A’s healthcare and higher education practices during the merger, and will

continue in that role as principal within M+A Architects, becoming part of the firm’s third generation of leadership.

Specializing in institutional architecture, Koelker has over 25 years of experience, both locally and nationally, and helps organizations achieve their functional, financial and cultural goals through architectural design. As an adjunct instructor over the years with the Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University and the Elliot Program for Health Care Design at Kent State University, Koelker has leveraged her experience to invigorate aspiring architects. A community leader, she has championed economic and urban redevelopment through service on her local city council and planning commissions, and has advocated for women in the profession, most recently as part of the Central Ohio Women in Architecture steering committee.

With experience on significant projects for dozens of top-tier healthcare, academic medical center and higher education institutions across the United States, prior KMA/DP partners Dottie Stamm, Ken Cleaver and Wes Hawkins will also continue in their leadership roles as associates within M+A Architects, leveraging their expertise to build market share across these institutional practice areas.
