    Karasek Joins Cannon Design as Associate Principal

    C__KarasekNEW YORK — Cannon Design recently announced that Carol Karasek, AIA, has joined the firm as associate principal.

    Karasek brings to the firm more than 30 years experience as an healthcare architect, with experience in the programming, design and delivery of inpatient and outpatient facilities. Her work focuses on the role of architectural design in medical facilities, placing particular emphasis on the quality of the environment of patients and staff.

    Prior to joining the firm, Karasek served as vice president and director of Health & Science at STV Inc. in New York. Among her responsibilities was the development of a newly formed health and science practice for this established multi-disciplinary engineering firm. Prior to that association, Karasek was senior vice president at Karlsberger in New York. Her portfolio of work includes significant projects for prominent clients in the New York area such as New York Presbyterian Hospital, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health Systems, the Yale-New Haven Hospital, New York University Medical Center, the Rockefeller University as well as the Los Angeles County Medical Center.

    In her current role as associate principal for Cannon Design, Karasek will be responsible for advancing the firm’s healthcare practice within the New York region as well as firm-wide. Karasek holds a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University in New York City. She is a member of The John Carter Brown Library and the Municipal Arts Society.
