IMG_8938RKahn_cr-aNEW YORK — Cannon Design recently announced that Richard J. Kahn, AIA, LEED AP, has been promoted to Principal at Cannon Design.

As Principal, Mr. Kahn will continue his responsibilities of expanding the firm’s science and technology, healthcare, and general practice markets—imparting his more than 20 years of experience in fulfilling the client’s expectations of delivering projects that are completed on time and on budget.

Currently, he is project manager and marketing leader on a variety of New York City-based projects including the Department of Veterans Affairs Spinal Cord Injury Center in the Bronx, North Shore LIJ Franklin, Glen Cove and Huntington Hospitals, the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, as well as the New York University Langone Medical Center.  Kahn’s previous portfolio of project work includes a $2.6 billion, 3 million sf project in the Bahamas, an effort that comprised a team of more than 200 professionals.

Kahn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Syracuse University and has been published in New York Magazine, Architectural Lighting, and The New York Times. He currently holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Princeton zoning board and is a mentoring liaison for project managers at Cannon Design’s New York City office.
