Immanuel_Medical_CenterST. LOUIS — McCarthy recently completed $250 million in renovations and additions for five Alegent Health hospitals in the Omaha, Neb. area as part of Alegent’s Generation Patient Program. It included renovations at Immanuel Medical Center, Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Mercy Hospital, Midlands Hospital and Lakeside Hospital.

Immanuel Medical now offers 100 percent private patient rooms, enhanced comprehensive Cancer Center services, expanded Ambulatory Diagnostic Center plus many other campus enhancements. McCarthy served as construction manager and general contractor for the Generation Patient Program.

In addition, McCarthy was recently awarded a new $7.5-million contract to renovate one level of an existing two-story facility, the 32,069-square-foot Inpatient Rehabilitation Center for Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Main work on the renovations will begin January 2012 and complete in October of 2012.

McCarthy serves as construction manager and general contractor on this new contract. Renovations to the rehab center include the addition of 36 private rehab inpatient rooms, gym, dining and living space, and support spaces.  McCarthy will work with Omaha-based Altus Architectural Studio and Omaha-based Farris Engineering on the renovation of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Center.

McCarthy Project Director, Tate Jacobitz, says he is pleased to be continuing the relationship with Alegent Health with this additional work at Immanuel Medical Center. “The award of a new project for this ongoing client is a confirmation of the quality of our work and our relationship with the great team at Immanuel Medical Center and Alegent Health.”

Alegent Health is a faith-based healthcare system in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa with nine acute care hospitals, more than 100 sites of service, some 1,300 physicians on its medical staff and 9,000 employees. Alegent Health is making healthcare better with an exceptional commitment to quality and by providing patient-focused care for the body, mind and spirit of every person consistent with its faith-based mission. Alegent Health continues the health ministry begun by its sponsors, Catholic Health Initiatives and Immanuel Health Systems, more than 100 years ago.
