    Matthew Cotton Joins Perkins Eastman as Principal

    Matthew_Cotton_webNEW YORK, N.Y. — The Executive Committee of Perkins Eastman announces that Matthew J. Cotton, AIA, has joined the firm’s Boston, Mass. office as principal. Cotton joins the with a background in healthcare projects to support the firm’s regional and international growth.


    Bradford Perkins, FAIA, chairman and CEO of Perkins Eastman, says, “Perkins Eastman’s thriving healthcare practice both regionally and internationally is made stronger yet by the established leadership and experience of Matthew Cotton. He will be integral to our continuing commitment to our current clients and projects as well as expanding our presence within these markets.”

    Cotton has more than 25 years of design and management experience in healthcare, with a particular focus on academic medical center master planning. He joins Perkins Eastman from HOK, where he led the St. Louis Regional Healthcare practice while also establishing the healthcare practice’s development in India. He previously worked for Tsoi/Kobus Associates and The Ritchie Organization. Cotton also brings unique viewpoints to planning and project management through his past experience designing Internet-based architectural information systems, including ProjectCenter®. 

    Cotton holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Boston Architectural Center, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Vassar College. A Registered Architect in Massachusetts, he holds memberships in the American Institute of Architects (AIA); the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB); the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE); and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD).
