FOREST HILLS, N.Y. — “Breaking Ground: The Future of Green Building,” the newest course series from Green Building Research Institute, has been approved by both GBCI and the American Institute of Architects to provide LEED & AIA professionals with continuing education credits.

Jun16_MCDeNews_Industry_USGBCProfessionals who complete a course are eligible to receive 30 GBCI-approved CE hours and 28 AIA-Approved HSW LUs (including 6 LEED Specific BD+C, ID+C & O+M CE hours). A wide range of topics will be covered, including LEED v4, WELL Building Standard, Healthcare and School Certification Projects, Biomimicry, Building Level Energy and Water Metering, Ecotourism, Sustainability in the Supply Chain and more.

Delivered virtually live and in an on-demand format, the courses gives professionals up to two full years in which to complete the curriculum, making it easy to complete the continuing education requirements needed to maintain LEED and/or AIA credentials.

“We value the high-caliber work that our students, who are architects, engineers and green building professionals, do on a daily basis – and, in turn, we have taken great care to provide them with quality educational opportunities from the industry’s most qualified instructors,” stated Jeslin Varghese, director of sustainability.

GBRI takes an interactive approach to education, seeking to engage students rather than to fall back on the standard plain presentation that is the most commonly used method for providing LEED & AIA continuing education credits. For more information, visit the GBRI website.
