LAKEWOOD, Colo.–Just 10 days after the hospital moved to Lakewood, St. Anthony Hospital officials announced preliminary plans for the St. Anthony Central Hospital Campus in Denver.

One of 13 Centura Health hospitals in Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital, is making plans to provide ongoing healthcare on the site of the original hospital campus. Services that will be offered on the campus are expected to include urgent care; primary care; imaging; specialty clinics; and Health Passport, the community health education program that was started by St. Anthony Hospitals in 2003.

“As part of St. Anthony’s 119-year history and desire to provide access to quality healthcare and serve the community, St. Anthony Hospital and Centura Health are working to ensure that we continue to provide access to care and increased value with a St. Anthony healthcare presence at the site of our original campus,” said Ray Mencini, M.D., president and interim CEO. “This commitment is an integral part of the Centura Health 2020 strategy and enables us to maintain a legacy of healthcare service on the historic campus.”

Located near Sloan’s Lake in west Denver, the 18.85-acre property is being marketed for sale by the Romani Group, a local development management and owner representative group. The Romani Group is focused on identifying the right buyer/developer for the site that shares this vision. Romani Group will work with prospective buyers and developers to incorporate the continuing St. Anthony programs and ultimately enable an integrated and successful future development.

Currently, primary care, cardiac rehab, outpatient rehab, specialty surgery practices and radiation therapy are still being provided by St. Anthony Hospital associates and physicians on the St. Anthony Central campus. Some of these services will transition to the new St. Anthony Hospital Campus in Lakewood once the two medical office plazas open later this year and early next year.

St. Anthony Hospital is nationally recognized for its renowned programs in trauma, cardiovascular services, neurosciences and orthopedics. St. Anthony Hospital’s expert team of physicians, nurses and other caregivers provide unparalleled medical care for patients and access to the latest in medical technology. St Anthony Hospital is one of the hospitals of Centura Health, Colorado’s largest hospital and healthcare system.
