Health center to open during 2nd quarter, 2012

PHOENIX — Healthcare is an essential community need, especially for communities that are growing. Banner Health will begin construction later this summer on a neighborhood health center in Verrado, located in Buckeye, Ariz., where Banner owns 60 acres. The center will serve that area’s initial needs for primary care with plans to provide more specialized care as the community grows.

“We’re excited to be able to move forward on meeting the community health needs in Verrado,” said Jim Brannon, chief executive officer of the Banner Medical Group. “We’ll open the health center with up to four primary care providers and, as the population increases, the number of providers and services will grow as well,” he added.

The center will include medical imaging and a laboratory. Although plans have yet to be finalized, the health center will open with approximately 8,000-square-feet during the second quarter of 2012. The architect and general contractor for the project are in the process of being selected.
