Amy Mays, IIDA, LEED AP, EDAC, has been promoted to director of interiors for HDR’s global health design practice — a new position for the firm emphasizing the critical importance and influence interior environments have on health, healing and well-being.
Mays brings more than 25 years of experience to her new role, with over 12 years in HDR’s New York architecture studio in Manhattan. Through her leadership, Mays has played an essential part in the growth and evolution of the New York studio and HDR’s interiors practice across North America. Her most recent work at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center University Hospital will open in 2026.
As health director, interiors, Mays will continue to work from HDR’s New York architecture studio to strengthen client relationships, mentor talent, lead project teams and elevate the culture of design across health and interiors disciplines. In collaboration with health practice leadership, Mays will partner across the West, Central and East regions to advance strategic business goals, foster growth and elevate interior design.
