Turner Construction Company and Tennessee Oncology celebrated the opening of the $105 million Midtown Medical Office Building, a five-story, 311,881-square-foot facility that will serve as a hub for cancer care in Middle Tennessee.
Turner provided comprehensive preconstruction and construction management services for the project, which features three levels of underground parking and five above-grade floors. The team managed three concurrent scopes of work: construction of the core and shell, full interior fit-out of four floors and completion of a specialized drug development unit. This effort required close coordination among field teams, trade partners and the design team to maintain quality, uphold safety standards and align schedules while delivering multiple interdependent project components.
The facility is built to bring together multiple oncology specialties in one location, enhancing convenience and coordination for patients, families and caregivers. Its layout supports collaboration among care teams while ensuring streamlined access to a wide range of clinical and supportive services.
The Midtown Medical Office Building unites medical and radiation oncology services while integrating leading technologies for cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. Patients will also benefit from a full suite of supportive resources, including nutrition counseling, social work and patient navigation services — creating a seamless continuum of care.
