EIR Healthcare has partnered with Good Samaritan Hospital to rapidly deploy two volumetric modular community clinics at 4901 Weedpatch Highway in Bakersfield, California. Funded by Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program Round 3 and 4 grants administered by the California Department of Health Care Services, the project represents an advancement in addressing behavioral health access challenges in rural communities through modular construction.
The Weedpatch Integrated Wellness Center will be the first volumetric modular clinic in Kern County providing medical, mental health and substance use disorder treatment in a single visit. The Weedpatch Family Wellness Center will focus on women and children, offering primary care, OB/GYN, psychiatry and medication-assisted treatments. Kern County is one of the most medically underserved areas in California, with approximately less than one primary care doctor for every 2,000 people.
Both 6,000-square-foot facilities utilize EIR Healthcare’s modular clinic platform and are designed to serve approximately 3,500 individuals annually. The modules will be manufactured at Plant Prefab. The entire project is expected to be operational by mid-to-late 2026.
