Rock Row Health Campus, in Westbrook, Maine, has opened. The integrative care campus features two new buildings — a 200,000-square-foot medical building and a 20,000-square-foot health services building, complete with attached 650-car parking garage.
The campus is anchored by New England Cancer Specialists, a leading provider of cancer care in the region. Additional care providers include Rayus Radiology, Saco Bay Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy and The Dempsey Center. LB Mini-Mart, a venture of LB Kitchen, has also opened on site to provide healthful meals, snacks and beverages for patients, visitors and staff. The project team included Waterstone Properties Group, Page (now part of Stantec), Mey & Co. and Landry/French Construction.
The lobby of the main medical building integrates with the overall aesthetics of the campus, which draws inspiration from nature. The project team envisioned a unique display of ceramic art created by local artists, taking inspiration from Maine’s natural beauty. Nine ceramic artists from the region were selected to be part of the permanent display, which is showcased in custom display shelving. Mey & Co also produced a coffee table book, available in the lobby space, to tell the story of the collaboration and the artists who created the work.
