A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for HealthPartners Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota. The six-story, 400,000-square-foot hospital and clinic campus is expected to open to patients in early 2028.
The new facility will offer expanded specialized services like a family birth center, TRIA Orthopedics Clinic, cardiac catheterization lab, cancer care and improved emergency and critical care. Designed with nature views from patient rooms, the hospital site will include walking trails connecting to local paths and sustainable practices that preserve over 94% of wetlands.
The site for the new hospital was acquired in 2017. Design planning halted at the pandemic’s onset but resumed in 2022, with architects chosen by late 2023. Over the past 18 months, efforts have concentrated on design development and community engagement. The project team includes HKS, BWBR and Kraus-Anderson.
