A grand opening was held for the Specialty Care Center at Renown South Meadows Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. The 121,117-square-foot facility is designed to address the healthcare needs of the expanding northern Nevada community. The center offers various healthcare services and advanced care technologies. The first and second floors are open; the third is scheduled for completion in late February.
The first floor features a full-service cafeteria, a large laboratory serving both the medical office building and the hospital, and specialized catheterization and electrophysiology labs. The second floor includes a 24,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center with six operating rooms, 20 pre- and post-operative recovery bays and an expanded sterile processing department.
The third floor, which will house the breast cancer center and cardiovascular suite, is scheduled to open in May. It will offer comprehensive services, including a 15-bay infusion center, breast imaging suite, wellness center and dedicated surgical and medical oncology suites. The project team included NexCore Group, Perkins&Will and Gilbane.
