CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont is now open in North Carolina. The hospital, the second for CaroMont Health and the first constructed in Belmont, is expected to serve patients in Gaston, Lincoln and Mecklenburg Counties in North Carolina and York County in South Carolina.
With 54 licensed inpatient beds, the hospital has an emergency department, a maternity unit that focuses on family centered care, a surgical suite and a full complement of diagnostic and imaging services. The hospital features private patient rooms; expansive family areas for participation in care and for moments of quiet reflection; a non-denominational chapel and a cafeteria with fresh and grab-and-go options.
The hospital is the last project in the healthcare organization’s 2019 commitment to invest more than $400 million in construction and expansion projects in and around Gaston County. Part of a 28-acre medical campus located near the campus of Belmont Abbey College, the site is also home to a four-floor medical pavilion, offering eight specialty clinics and the Belmont Surgery Center, an ambulatory surgery center providing outpatient orthopedic and spinal surgeries. The project team includes Robins & Morton and McMillan Pazdan Smith.
