Abrazo West Campus has unveiled its newly upgraded catheterization lab, marking a significant advancement in cardiac care. The cath lab modernization project began in 2023 and has concluded with this $3 million renovation, equipping both cath labs with technology designed to enhance patient outcomes and procedural efficiency.
The upgraded cath lab features a mounted Phillips Azurion C Arm, capable of rotating on no less than eight axes. This imaging system provides unlimited flexibility for performing 2D and 3D visualizations, allowing medical professionals to conduct a wide range of procedures with precision.
Dr. Richard Pham, Director of Cardiology at Abrazo West, emphasized the importance of this upgrade, stating, “We can do things faster, more efficiently, and safer with the new equipment.”
The renovation includes brand new high-definition screens, updated tables and advanced lighting, all designed to support a variety of cardiac procedures, including those for heart attacks, heart failure, stent placements and vascular disease.
Dr. Pham says the number of procedures doctors perform in the hospital’s cath labs has grown 58% since 2022. Dr. Pham noted the impact of the new technology on patient care, highlighting that the upgrades lead to quicker recovery times and improved patient outcomes.
