Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, held a grand opening for its newly redesigned and expanded Family Birthplace, an $68-million investment. The 59,150-square-foot Family Birthplace at Memorial Regional serves as the high-risk epicenter for mothers experiencing complex and rare pregnancy conditions. The project team included Turner Construction and HKS.
Key features include all-private patient rooms with spa-like bathrooms, 41 postpartum rooms, 14 isolation rooms, 18 antepartum rooms and a simulation lab for ongoing clinical training.
For decades, Memorial Regional Hospital has provided seamless continuum of care through the integration with Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Connected by an enclosed pedestrian bridge, the two hospitals ensure expectant mothers and their babies have immediate access to comprehensive, expert care. This collaboration provides direct access to the Wasie NICU, the only Level IV NICU in Broward County, as well as a 24/7 placenta accreta team.
