DLR Group has welcomed Principal Jonathan Miller, AIA, WELL AP, as healthcare client leader. Working from the Durham, North Carolina studio, Miller takes an active role in shaping healthcare design leadership within the Southeast region, as well as supporting the entire healthcare practice with design-thought strategies.
With over 35 years in the healthcare design industry, Miller brings a holistic and collaborative approach tailored to each project. His commitment to fostering teamwork and efficiency, grounded in Lean and Integrated Project Delivery methods, creates an environment where all stakeholders — external and internal — feel valued.
Miller’s deep understanding of programmatically complex projects is reflected in his work, contributing lasting, positive impacts on institutions and the communities they serve. Miller’s past projects include industry benchmark ideas and award-winning work with organizations throughout the Carolinas, the Mid-Atlantic, New England and Northern California where his career began.
Miller’s experience as a colon cancer survivor has greatly influenced his work.
“Facing my diagnosis over 10 years ago, along with the subsequent treatment, recovery and survivorship, has provided me with a fresh perspective,” said Miller. “This has enabled me to help my clients and design teams create more empathetic design solutions for the projects we collaborate on.”
