A grand opening was held for AdventHealth Riverview, a greenfield hospital, marking a significant next step in providing high-quality healthcare for the rapidly growing communities in South Hillsborough County, Florida.
The new 282,000-square-foot facility opens with 82 beds, with plans to ultimately expand to 202 beds to meet the needs of the growing community. The hospital provides essential services such as emergency care, cardiology, labor and delivery, as well as bariatrics, general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, spine surgery and more. A full-service rooftop helipad accommodates AdventHealth AirStar 1, the health system’s newest medical helicopter in the region.
Currently, only 60% of the hospital is built out to care for patients. The remaining 40% will be for future growth, expanding based on the needs of the community. The project team included Robins & Morton and HuntonBrady.
