DLR Group Appoints Higher Education Leader to Spearhead Pacific Northwest Healthcare Teams

DLR Group Higher Education Leader and Principal Jackie Eckhardt, AIA, Assoc. DBIA, is also taking on healthcare leadership within the firm. With the Sept. 30 retirement of Healthcare Leader David Frum, FAIA, FACHA, Eckhardt will lead healthcare and higher education design and planning teams in the Pacific Northwest in order to grow the firm’s presence in the region.

Eckhardt’s background, highly focused on mission-centered clients and with strong ties to the health sciences, naturally merges talents.

As both client and designer with institutions such as the University of Washington, her work often straddles both sectors, and she will now have the dual benefit of expanding innovation and providing intersectionality around the medical campus environment and its faculty. Through mentorship, research, design distinction and open knowledge sharing, Eckhardt strengthens her influential work on key education, equity and sustainability issues.
