SSM Health Dean Medical Group – South Madison Campus has received WELL Certification at the Gold level. The project is Wisconsin’s first WELL Building-certified healthcare project. The 185,000-square-foot facility includes comprehensive primary and specialty care services, alongside on-site clinical support services like lab, imaging and pharmacy.

Certification is an accomplishment shared by all project partners. SSM Health’s project partners included HGA, AEI Engineers and Findorff. The certification was awarded through IWBI’s WELL v2, the latest version of the WELL Building Standard. Project features that helped achieve WELL Certified Gold rating include:

    • Enhanced indoor air quality to reduce allergies and asthma triggers
    • Natural light and views of nature to improve mood and reduce stress
    • Ergonomic workstations to promote comfort and productivity
    • Healthy food options to nourish occupants’ body and mind
    • Walking trails and accessible stairways to encourage physical activity
    • A variety of comfortable and inviting spaces to relax and socialize

SSM Health is working to achieve additional WELL Building certification on several other facilities, including the SSM Health Outpatient Center being constructed in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
