VA Expands Healthcare services in Florida
The Department of Veterans Affairs has opened one of its newest clinics in South Tampa, Florida. Sabal Park Clinic provides a comprehensive suite of services — including primary care, mental health, social work and dietetics.
The clinic has the capacity to serve up to 3,600 Veterans and will eventually expand its offerings to encompass laboratory services, pharmacy consultations, nutritional support and social work assistance. The clinic will serve eligible Veterans in metro Tampa and surrounding areas of Hillsborough County.
Over the past year alone, more than 400,000 Veterans have enrolled in VA care — a 30% increase year over year — including more than 32,000 Veterans in Florida.
The clinic first began seeing Veteran patients in February. This is a building that includes both VA and the Department of Defense clinics.
