Duncan Griffin, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to director of sustainability, health for HDR’s global architecture practice.
Most recently managing principal of the company’s Seattle, Washington architecture studio, Griffin’s priorities for his new role include connecting with clients to support sustainable and regenerative design, along with reducing embodied carbon and long-term operational costs for healthcare facilities.
With more than 33 years of experience designing healing environments and sustainable solutions for healthcare facilities, Griffin’s recent accomplishments as Seattle architecture managing principal include growing HDR’s Pacific Northwest architecture practice to nearly 30 staff in six years, with the studio delivering three health, science and civic buildings to open in 2024.
