Patients needing intensive care at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia can access 52 new ICU beds on the ninth and 10th floors of its critical care west tower.
The Beck Group, the design and construction firm, recently completed the project to offset the closure of Atlanta Medical Center late last year. The project also added more nurse stations, soiled and clean rooms and staff support spaces. The 30,000-square-foot expansion is part of a larger, multi-phased $130-million hospital renovation.
Hospital officials selected Beck and its partners PF&A, a woman-owned healthcare architecture firm and engineering firm WSP, to expand its West Tower inpatient units.
