The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ new Lakeland Community-Based Outpatient Clinic construction project has topped out. When complete and operational in 2024, it will help meet the growing needs of more than 23,000 veterans living in the Lakeland, Florida area.
The 92,600-square-foot facility is centrally located less than 5 miles from Lakeland Regional Medical Center. The clinic will offer patient parking at the front of the site, along with a covered drop-off area in front of the building. Dedicated staff parking and entry will be located in the rear of the building.
When open, healthcare services will include primary care, audiology and speech pathology, physical therapy, mental health, ophthalmology and prosthetic and sensory aid services. The clinic will also feature a lab, pharmacy, CT, X-ray, mammography, MRI and ultrasound technologies. Patient care spaces will be arranged around central staff work areas within each clinic to increase operational efficiencies.
The project team includes Gresham Smith, The Molasky Group of Companies and The Korte Company.
