IIDA Names 2023-24 International Board President, New Board Members
IIDA has named Ronnie Belizaire, FIIDA as the 2023-24 president of the IIDA International Board of Directors, with Erika Moody, FIIDA elevated to the IIDA president-elect. Also elected to the International Board for new terms as vice presidents are Michelle Boolton, Ind. IIDA; Bill Bouchey, FIIDA; Joe Pettipas, IIDA; Ana Pinto-Alexander, FIIDA and Abby Scott, IIDA.
“Ronnie’s contributions both to our organization and to our industry cannot be overstated,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “As a talented designer, accomplished leader, and fierce advocate for others in the field, Ronnie will lead our International Board of Directors with expertise and finesse.”
All international board members will be inaugurated at the IIDA Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 11 at Venue SIX10, 610 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.

IIDA Georgia ChapterRonnie is an experienced project manager and designer with over five million square feet of architectural, interiors, and industrial projects managed and delivered during her 14-year career. She has completed projects for numerous clients, including well-known Fortune 500 companies, helping them transform their organizations through the built environment. Ronnie’s business acumen and design expertise enabled her to guide the organizational goals of the companies she has worked for. She is a dedicated IIDA volunteer whose previous service includes IIDA Georgia Chapter President from 2013-2014 and IIDA Foundation Chair from 2017-2019.

A former principal at 360 Architecture, Erika co-created Blackbird Design Studio in 2013 where she and her partner worked diligently to build a practice that saw double-digit revenue growth and amassed a strong portfolio of projects. The company merged with Helix Architecture + Design in 2016, where she now holds the position of president. In addition to her many varied commitments to IIDA, including serving as the IIDA Mid-America Chapter President from 2014 to 2015, she was recognized with the 2017 IIDA MADA Vision Award, the highest award given to an individual who exemplifies notable qualities in leadership, design, and mentorship.

As a passionate leader and lifelong student of design, she believes in the power of design thinking as a framework for solving complex problems and understands that storytelling is the key to unlocking true brand success.

With more than 30 years of experience, Bill is an exceptional design leader in all areas of commercial interior design. He is a published, award-winning designer with a passion for collaboration, visioning, conceptualizing, and storytelling. His designs are both tasteful and functional and respect the client’s design ambitions within a stated budget. He provides creative leadership for each design team, sets quality standards, develops the design concepts, and maintains design concept integrity throughout design development, through completion.

Joe has over three decades of experience in the design industry, understanding the challenges facing corporate, institutional, hospitality, retail, and healthcare clients today. His international experience in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and across South and North America gives him an appreciation for the importance of brand, community, and smart solutions, and how they must be synthesized into the built environment to achieve successful outcomes.

Ana Pinto-Alexander has more than 38 years of experience designing interiors for the country’s most progressive facilities. Her childhood in Colombia, South America, combined with extensive international travel, has influenced her unique design perspective. Ana’s extensive research has anchored her belief that the environments we live, work, and play in greatly reflect and affect who we are as individuals. Community service remains an integral component in Ana’s mission to improve the world we live in. Ana continually encourages and engages with designers volunteering time on not-for-profit projects serving the community.

Abby Scott is an interior design principal and professional associate at HDR, Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska. She has a unique talent for leading and fostering long-lasting client relationships to create memorable and inspiring environments. With over 21 years of experience in all phases of design and project leadership, Abby has gained a reputation for her deep knowledge of strategic visioning.
