Stantec is providing architectural and engineering services for the new 300,000-square-foot, 10-floor patient tower at Mount Nittany Health’s Medical Center in State College, Pennsylvania. The new tower will provide an advanced patient-centered experience and care with a design focused on sustainability and natural elements. The design brings natural light into each room and captures the spectacular views of the surrounding State College area.
The tower will include 168 private patient rooms, outpatient clinics, enhanced dining and food service areas, a rejuvenating outdoor healing garden, modern data center, central utility plant and multilevel parking deck conveniently located adjacent to the new main entrance.
Design efforts for this project began early in 2022 and were officially announced in October 2022. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer of 2023, with an expected occupancy date in the last quarter of 2026. Whiting-Turner serves as the general contractor on the project.
